Our dental studios use digital radiographs where the image is electronically sent directly to a computer where the image appears on the screen. The image can then be stored on the computer or printed out.

High definition images are produced immediately and are a significant advantage for Dr. Cattozzo in accomplishing many oral procedures. The digital radiography allows the dentist to change the contrast (to lighter or darker). It is also possible to enlarge the images or place color enhancements. All of these possibilities to change the original image facilitate easier detection of any pathosis that is present. Dr. Cattozzo can then decide the best treatment for the patient.

Another advantage of digital radiography is less radiation. The reduction in radiation by digital radiography is about 90% compared to the conventional radiography conventional film!

The X-ray is done with a sensor which is placed in the patients mouth. When your teeth are aligned properly the X-ray picture will be taken. This image can be viewed almost immediately on the computer screen. Fortunately less radiaton is needed to produce an image with digital radiography than with standard dental X-rays.

To use Digital X-ray instead of standard dental X-rays is an additional advantage for the patient because there is no waste of time any more while waiting for the development of the films several times during a treatment.

We would like to underline that the number of X-rays which are needed for your complete dental treatment won't have any extra charge. Our dental studios offer this as an extra service to our patients as it is already included in the final price of the dental treatment.
