Gingivae:
Another name for your gums.
Gingivectomy:
Is the removal of excess or extra gum tissue to improve cleansibility and health. Often necessary to treat gum overgrowth caused by a variety of medications.
Granuloma:
This is a zone of infected tissue that has yet to organize into an abcess. The most common cause of pain necessitating root canal therapy.
Gums:
This is the pink area around your teeth.
Gum (periodontal) disease:
Is also known as gingivitis or periodontitis. There are several warning signs of gum disease:
red or bleeding gums, tooth sensitivity and bad breath. It is a serious infection that, left untreated, can lead to tooth loss. See page
