Removable Prosthesis

What are dentures?

Dentures are a partial or complete set of artificial teeth used to occupy the upper or lower jaw, usually attached to a plate. Dentures can also be called a set of false teeth.
There are Partial Dentures which are best for people having several missing teeth and whose adjacent teeth are not strong enough to support a bridge.
The Full Dentures replace all the teeth in the jaw, taking support from bone and gums.

What's the difference between a "bridge" and a "partial denture?
You should know that both, bridges and partial dentures replace missing teeth. A bridge is permanently attached to abutment teeth or, in some cases, implants. A partial denture is attached by clasps to the teeth and is easily removed by the patient. Patients are usually more satisfied with bridges than with partial dentures. See page

Who needs dentures?

If you have lost most or all of your teeth, you are a perfect candidate for complete dentures. If you still have some natural teeth remaining, a partial denture is recommended to help improve chewing ability, speech, and support for facial muscles. See page

If I am missing one or more teeth, what are my options?
Patients today have many options for replacing missing teeth. Dental bridges, dentures, and dental implants all have their advantages and disadvantages.
If you have lost a tooth or several teeth, we recomend you to seek treatment. Adjacent teeth can shift into the gap left by a lost tooth; in addition, a missing tooth can lead to bone loss, hygiene problems, difficulties with speaking and eating, and much more. Dental restorations can give you a strong bite and a beautiful smile.
